Spent Christmas at this resort and had a great experience. The breakfast was amazing, offering plenty of options. Had a lovely conversation with the friendly host who made me feel welcomed. Additionally, the resort presented a lovely view of coconut trees and lush green surroundings that was a great sight to wake up to every morning. Also, the location was perfect as it was very close to the city center and provided easy access to many attractions.
The language barrier. The staff was not fluent in English, making communication a bit of a challenge. Additionally, there was some miscommunication regarding the rooms which caused a bit of trouble at check-in.

The hosts provided soap, toilet paper, and towels, making my stay super convenient. The room was mostly clean and quiet with a small fridge, perfect for storing food. The manager was really friendly and helpful, making me feel at home. The common area outside was jaw-dropping, allowing me to meet and chat with other travelers. The clean and spacious apartment had a comfortable double bed and single bed, hot shower, AC and fan, and even a Moskito net. The kitchenette with electric kettle and fridge was a nice bonus. The location was quiet and close to the lake, with easy access to public transportation. And at only $15 a night, it was definitely worth it. The check-in and check-out process was easy peasy. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Crystal Lake Resort was absolutely wonderful! The owner of the hotel made us feel extremely welcome and the staff were always smiling and helpful. The location of the hotel, near the lake, was perfect for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean, and had all the necessary amenities, including a comfortable bed with a mosquito net. The breakfast provided was delicious and satisfying. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Kandy.
There were a couple of minor drawbacks during our stay. The bathroom in our room was a bit small, but it was sufficient for a short stay.
